Wednesday night at the Capitol cinema of Lausanne, the Chaplin family has officially given the photographic collection of Charlie Chaplin in Musée de l'Elysée, the Swiss museum of photography. This collection is valuable because it includes all the photos since the start of filming. We went to attend this moving and we were fortunate to attend the screening of the Kid (1921) in the presence of children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren of Charlie Chaplin.
The session began with a cartoon of Walt Disney: Mickey's Polo Team (1936), which are represented in Laurel, Hardy, Harpo Marx and Charlie Chaplin of course. Then we saw the Kid, a masterpiece of tenderness and humor. As you probably live in Paris, middle of nowhere in the distant suburb of Lausanne, you probably missed this event.
